4x4 Across Australia TourBuy Tickets Online
MR DAMAGE PRESENTS THE ANGELS 4X4 ACROSS AUSTRALIA IN 2017 HIGHLIGHTING FOUR ALBUMS
Legendary Aussie rock band The Angels are gearing up for a tour guaranteed to smash the speakers and get venues rockin’. Announcing their 2017 4x4 Across Australia tour, the band will be digging through their back catalogue to pick some of their biggest hits for the special run of shows, which kick off in March. The 4x4 concept will see the band hand-picking four of their most iconic records, and playing, back-to-back, four hits from each record. Add to that an encore that will feature a swag of more classic tracks, and 4x4 will be a tour to go down in Aussie rock history.
For rhythm guitarist John Brewster, the 4x4 concept is about exploring more than four decades of great rock songs from the band’s archives. “Each of our albums have a distinct sound and atmosphere that differs from the others,” he says. “It’s great to enter and embrace the feeling of these albums. We always like to have an angle that works for the fans and the band too.”
Lead guitarist Rick Brewster says while there will be a certain number of planned songs for each show, some tracks will be decided on the night. “There will be no two nights that are the same,” he says. “The old rule will apply; something old, something new, and something blue.”
The 4x4 tour gives us an opportunity to add some rarities.” Including a special hit-packed encore in the show was a given. There are classic songs that won’t be part of the 4x4 song selection that audiences will want to hear, so the band thought wrapping up the show with these timepieces was a perfect end to the concert. “Can’t Shake It is a great song for the encore,” says John. “It gives the band a chance to stretch out. There’ll be a couple of surprises in the encore too.”
The Angels have once again cemented themselves as legends on the Aussie music scene. With new songs and their classic back catalogue of tracks such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, No Secrets, Face The Day, Take A Long Line, Marseilles and Shadowboxer to name a few, they are revered for their live shows and are playing better than ever!

Diesel SoloBuy Tickets Online
Americana. It’s music that draws from America’s roots, from country, folk, bluegrass, R&B, the blues … But to Mark Lizotte, the musician known and loved as Diesel, Americana is the very core of his being. It’s the music of his childhood and, as an artist born in America and raised in Australia, a link back to the land he’d left behind.
On his new album Americana, Diesel pays tribute to the artists that inspired the musician he would become – one of our nation’s most lauded, accomplished and hard-working rock guitarists and singers – by putting his own unique stamp on a collection of classic songs.
In short, he re-traces the steps of his musical education paying respect to Tom Petty, CCR, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt and more.
The doorway into Americana, however, is a creation all Diesel’s own. Hank’s Dream was a melody that circled his head during three sleepless nights in New York last year and its title refers to the spark that brought the Lizottes to Australia all those years ago: Dad Hank’s dream of a different life on the other side of the world.
Uncannily, around the same time, one of the Lizzotte boys stumbled upon a photo from Hank and Theresa’s wedding album. “It’s this incredible black and white photo of them in front of this in front of this ridiculously big old Buick that they borrowed – they got married on a shoestring and borrowed a car from the Navy,” Diesel says. “There they are, in front of it, all dressed up … that’s classic Americana to me. So when this album happened I was like, ‘There’s my cover’.”
So now, 27 years after he busted out of the garage and into the Australian psyche with Don’t Need Love and Soul Revival, it’s time for fans to circle back and hear the songs that made the man. Americana… Diesel Solo.
